Mrs. Skots joined the SCA staff in 2023. She and her family recently relocated from California, where she taught 3rd and 5th grades at Trinity Christian School (TCS) in Sacramento. Mrs. Skots was responsible for providing leadership and personalized instruction, supporting special needs, gifted, and English learner students, mentoring new teachers and fostering parent-school engagement to improve student achievement. Trinity Christian School recognized Mrs. Skots for her contributions to student academic success, support for special needs and English learner students, and outstanding performance. Additionally, she is a practitioner of Universal Design Learning (UDL), and she has demonstrated professional growth by attending the Assembly of God teacher professional development. The California Department of Education (CDE) California School Recognition Program (CSRP) has also recognized her for successfully employing UDL strategies to increase academic success and narrow the achievement gap among ESL students.

Mrs. Skots is a mother of six children and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Cognition and Instruction from Grand Canyon University. She enjoys singing, reading, and running with her husband. Her goal for this year is to run her fourth marathon in 2024.
