Community Service

Our goal is to ignite a sense of purpose inside every SCA student.

We equip them with solid academics and Christian education in a compassionate environment. We offer excellent extracurricular opportunities to cultivate their special talents. Then, we put feet to their faith by facilitating acts of service.

From the smallest preschooler to our seniors, every class plans and executes service projects each year. Musicians perform at area nursing homes and student council maintains a city street. They raise support for unwed mothers, rake leaves for homebound citizens, and redecorate rooms for abused women.

Seniors raise their own funds to travel to another culture putting everything they’ve learned into action. They have run vacation Bible schools, built facilities, and worked in orphanages in Mexico; served abused/neglected Navajo children in Arizona; worked in a poverty-stricken community in Kentucky; and served in Ontario, Canada, and New Orleans, Louisiana.

Many wonderful organizations have been touched by the SCA family: Hope House, Habitat for Humanity, Cancer Action Society, Alexandras House, St. Joseph Hospital, Harvesters, John Knox Village, and Lee's Summit Parks & Recreation, Arts Council, Police & Fire Departments, and Social Services, to name a few.
