Dear Families & Friends of SCA,

As we approach the end of the 2024-25 school year, I want to reach out with a prayerful request for your support on an exciting initiative that will significantly impact our students and community. Over the past four months, I’ve had the privilege of meeting with families to introduce and discuss the “SCA Fields of Dreams” Campaign. Today I am asking for your help in turning this dream into a reality. 

What is the Fields of Dreams Campaign? This campaign is focused on helping SCA invest in athletic turf for multiple fields across our campus, as well as the resurfacing of our track. We are blessed to have already raised $1.1 million during the leadership “silent” phase of the campaign. However, we still need to raise an additional $400,000 to reach our $1.5 million goal.

You may be wondering: Why invest in turf for our campus? With the number of Junior High, High School, and Elementary teams at SCA, as well as the use of our fields by city league teams (many of which involve SCA early elementary children), our current grass fields have become a safety concern. Additionally, the cost of maintaining these fields is steadily rising, with results often falling short due to overuse. This project will not only provide safer, more easily maintained fields but will also create additional play space for our younger students during recess.

After an update from the Board of Education on the Capital Improvement/Expansion Strategic Plan, the Board made this project a top priority for research and financial study in the fall of 2024 with approval to move forward in November. Your support will help us create an environment where our children—both secondary and elementary—can thrive and play safely.

Donations to the Fields of Dreams Campaign will fund the following:

• Resurfacing of SCA Track
• Turf for SCA Football & Soccer Stadium
• Turf for SCA Baseball Infield and Wings (foul lines), allowing SCA Softball team to play on campus
• Turf for SCA West Field (where the current SCA football team practices). This will be used for practices, Junior High and Elementary games, PE classes, and recess.
