Summit Christian Academy (SCA) second grade students sang “Thank You, Soldiers” at the conclusion of the annual Veterans Day chapel service. The service honored all Veterans, including many active and retired service members in attendance.

(Lee’s Summit) - Summit Christian Academy (SCA) elementary and secondary students paused to observe Veterans Day with special Veteran’s Day Chapel services on Friday, November 11.

SCA elementary students filled the Elementary Gymnasium to honor Veterans, which included many active or retired service members in attendance who are parents, family members, and loved ones.  The service began with recognizing these Veterans in attendance as they stood when their branch of the military was saluted during the Armed Forces Medley. The guest speaker Rick Brattin, Missouri Senator and Sergeant in the United States Marines shared, and the service concluded with a performance by the second grade class.

For SCA Secondary students, the SCA chapter of Young Americans for Foundation (YAF) organized a special program. The program included time in prayer, a performance of the National Anthem and God Bless the USA performed by the Junior Senior Ensemble, and guest speaker SCA Alumni parent and Lieutenant Commander David Rush, United States Navy Combat Pilot of the F-18 Legacy Hornet.
