SCA’s Junior High Speech and Debate team recently took first place in the small school division during their first tournament at Paul Kinder Middle School in Blue Springs.

(Lee’s Summit) –  Summit Christian Academy (SCA) is pleased to announce that the Junior High Speech and Debate team took first place in the small school division during their first tournament at Paul Kinder Middle School in Blue Springs.

In addition, individual awards included 8th grade student Junius Yancick took first place in original oratory and impromptu speaking; 7th grade student Sam Fulton took first place in congress debate; 8th grade students Leo Butler and Elijah Zicari took second place in experienced public forum debate; 8th grade students Violet Glaze and Noah Lam took fourth place in novice public forum debate; 7th grade students Josiah Zicari and Carson Shrum took fifth place in novice public forum debate; 7th grade students Mason Anderson and Hunter Prouty took eighth place in novice public forum debate. Finally, 7th grade students Landon Huffman, Briana Acosta and Maggie Daly had strong performances contributing to the team award of first place in the small school division!
