SCA senior David Gilkeson received the second place Derrick Thomas Service Finalist Award for the Derrick Thomas/Neil Smith Third and Long Foundation.

(Lee’s Summit) - Summit Christian Academy (SCA) is pleased to announce that senior David Gilkeson received the second place Derrick Thomas Service Award for the Derrick Thomas/Neil Smith Third and Long Foundation.

The Derrick Thomas/Neil Smith Third and Long Foundation was founded by Derrick Thomas, who was named one of the greatest pass rushers of all time and was a Chiefs defensive end. The Foundation, along with Papa John’s Pizza, recognizes a Greater Kansas City high school senior football athlete who assumes the challenge of serving his community. To be eligible, high school seniors must reflect the commitment of service.

David received a check for $1,000 and a Papa John’s Pizza party for the SCA Eagles Varsity Football Team.
