SCA sophomore Kailee Burke painted a still life at the UCM Art Contest which received a “1” rating at the competition.

(Lee’s Summit, MO) - Summit Christian Academy (SCA) is pleased to announce that ten artists participated in the University of Central Missouri (UCM) High School Art Contest Day. As part of the contest, students visit the UCM campus and have two hours to create artwork on-site to be judged for artistic merit, or participate in non-competitive workshops.

For UCM Art Contest Day, three students took “1” ratings for the work they created, including freshman Christine Xiong (drawing still life) and sophomores Kailee Burke (painting still life) and Moriah Kilen (drawing still life). Seniors Charlotte Brownlee (painting still life), Sarina Manjili (painting still life), Aubrianna Kennedy (drawing still life) took “2” ratings for their creations.

Students attending non-competitive workshops included freshmen Zoey McGuire (Ceramics) and Reece Carter (Photography), and juniors Marin Akeson (Ceramics) and Tristen Hamline (Figure Drawing).
