Philosophy
The Virtuosity! Program at SCA emphasizes excellence in the arts. Through lessons and performance opportunities, students develop their talents and use them to glorify the Lord. Students participating in Virtuosity! are encouraged to uphold the highest standards in a personal commitment to both refine their skills and appropriately evaluate the arts.
Lessons Provided
Half-hour lessons are available before, during, and after school, depending on teacher availability. Lessons are offered September-May.
Piano - Grades K-12
Violin, Viola - Grades K-12
Guitar - Grades 3-12
Percussion - Grades 3-12
Clarinet - Grades 4-12
Flute - Grades 4-12
Saxophone - Grades 4-12
Worship Band - Grades 5-8
Harp (Prerequisite: 2 years of piano lessons OR proficiency in
note reading and basic rhythms) - Grades 5-12
Trumpet, Trombone, Baritone Horn (euphonium) - Grades 5-12
Voice - Grades 5-12
Students need to have the proper tools for lessons; i.e., instrument, books, and a quiet place at home for daily practice.
Program Fees
Registration Fee (due at contract signing) - $35
This fee is for new students and includes the cost of a Virtuosity! T-shirt. There is no registration fee for returning students.
Replacement Virtuosity! T-shirt - $12
Monthly Lesson Fee - $95 (unless otherwise specified by the Virtuosity! Director). All fees will be billed on a monthly basis (October-June) through your SCA FACTS account.
The cost of books/materials will be determined by the teacher. Parents are responsible for the cost of book/material purchases and will coordinate this purchase with the teacher. Parents are responsible for providing a good quality instrument for at-home practice.

Performance
One recital performance opportunity will be provided each semester, one in December and one in late April/early May.
