National Honor Society (NHS) at Summit Christian Academy
Summit Christian Academy is a member of this organization and every year in March, qualified students are invited to fill out an application to become members. The Society itself offers scholarships and seminars/webinars on leadership, service and college admission planning and preparation. Membership in this organization is considered a plus by many college admission committees.
Membership in this chapter is an honor bestowed upon deserving students by the faculty and shall be based on the criteria of Scholarship, Service, Leadership, and Character.
- Students must be a sophomore, junior, or senior.
- The student must have been in attendance for a period of at least one semester at Summit Christian Academy.
- The student must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.
Once these requirements have been met, the candidate will be notified and asked to complete and submit the Student Activity Information Form for further consideration and selection. The faculty will be asked to evaluate these candidates using the official evaluation form provided by the chapter advisor. Both of these forms are intended to help the Faculty Council see the student’s service, leadership, and character. The scholarship aspect is based solely on GPA.
Jr. High National Honor Society (NJHS)
The National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) centers on the values of scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship. Students need to be willing to achieve required volunteer hours and meet other criteria surrounding the group's five core values. There is an application process to be a part.
