GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT SCA
Summit Christian Academy (SCA) is a private, nondenominational Christian school in southeast Lee’s Summit, MO. As a Christian school, SCA requires that all employees be professing Christians who attend a Bible-believing church.
SCA has an early education through 12th grade program on a 36-acre campus that includes three facilities, as well as track, baseball, soccer, and football fields. Founded in 1989 with 32 elementary students, SCA has a current PS-12th grade enrollment of nearly 1,200. SCA offers a highly academic, college-preparatory program that includes 93 dual credit hours for high school students.
The elementary program includes the Foundations & Frameworks reading curriculum that greatly enhances reading comprehension through critical thinking skills, in addition to daily special classes.
SCA is accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI), National Council for Private School Accreditation (NCPSA), and Cognia.

2025-26 School Year
High School Geometry Teacher - Full-Time - We are seeking a passionate and dedicated High School Geometry Teacher to join our faculty. The ideal candidate will have a heart for teaching, a strong understanding of geometry and mathematical instruction, and a commitment to integrating a Christian worldview into the classroom. The candidate would also foster positive and engageing classroom that supports both academic and spiritual growth. Other duties will include but are not limited to: collaborating with other faculty and staff to support the school’s mission and educational goals; and participating in school events, professional development, faculty meetings etc.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or a related field (required); teaching credential or education degree preferred.
- Prior experience teaching geometry or secondary-level math preferred.
- A deep and growing Christian faith, with a desire to disciple young people through teaching.
- Strong classroom management skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and compassionately.
Middle School English Teacher - Full-Time - SCA is seeking a passionate and qualified middle school English Teacher to join our faculty. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in English literature and language arts, and be excited to help students grow in both their academic and spiritual lives. We are seeking someone who can integrate biblical worldview into all aspects of teaching and classroom culture. They would also cultivate and encourage a love for reading and writing while helping students build foundational language skills. Other duties will include but are not limited to: collaborating with other faculty and staff to support the school’s mission and educational goals; and participating in school events, professional development, faculty meetings etc.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or related field (required); teaching credential preferred.
- Previous teaching experience, especially at the middle school level, is highly valued.
- A deep and growing Christian faith, with a desire to disciple young people through teaching.

- Ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and compassionately.

Elementary Resource Coordinator - Full-Time - The Elementary Resource Coordinator oversees the effective implementation of Resource programs at the elementary level and reports to the elementary principal. In addition, the Elementary Resource Coordinator will work collaboratively with the Secondary Resource Coordinator on services, ISPs, CAPs, and professional development. The Coordinator ensures that all student support plans, including Classroom Adjustment Privilege Plans (CAPP) and Individualized Service Plans (ISP), are accurately maintained and followed by faculty and staff. The Coordinator serves as a liaison between the Resource Department, teachers, parents, and administration to ensure students' academic and developmental needs are met in accordance with the school's spiritual mission and educational philosophy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education and/or extensive experience in special education.
- Experience leading a team and working collaboratively within a team
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Proficiency with Google Drive and document management systems
Kitchen Assistant - Part-Time - SCA is accepting applicants interested in helping in the kitchen. Responsibilities include food preparation using proper safety standards, cleaning and sanitizing of kitchen/cafeteria and serving lines, serving meals to students, and stocking shelves/refrigerators and freezers. Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
Landscape/Grounds - Part-Time/Full-time - Day Shift - SCA is accepting applications from candidates for general grounds maintenance. Duties will include, but are not limited to, mowing, outside repairs, field maintenance, and general repairs as needed.
Coaching Positions

Candidates must demonstrate a high level of knowledge for the sport and must be able to effectively communicate that knowledge to student/athletes for their development. The ideal candidate would have playing and prior coaching experience, be motivated to work with a wide range of abilities, and coach with passion and compassion. Candidates should be dedicated to in-season and off-season player development.

Substitute Support Staff Positions

Substitute Classroom Aide - SCA is accepting applications for classroom aide substitute to serve in early education and elementary. Substitute classroom aides will work directly with students to provide support for classroom teachers.
Substitute Office Assistant – SCA is accepting applications for office assistant substitutes to serve in the elementary and/or secondary office. Candidates must have prior administrative experience, excellent communication skills, experience in Microsoft programs, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and the ability to work in a fast-paced work environment.

Substitute Teachers – SCA is accepting applications for substitute teachers. Candidates must have a minimum of 60 college credit hours. Prior teaching and/or subbing experience is a plus.

Summit Christian Academy's private music lesson program has openings for teachers. Hours are flexible and can be before, during, or after school hours as desired by the instructors.
