Mr. Finch earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees in American History. He has taught high school American History, American Government, and Geography at SCA since 2001 and is also an adjunct professor of history at John Brown University. Prior to teaching, he also served on the SCA Parent-Teacher Fellowship Board for three years. Mr. Finch has earned teaching awards including SCA teacher of the year, regional Great Plains Alliance of Christian Schools teacher of the year, the “Outstanding Teacher of American History” for all Missouri schools (DAR), and National teacher of the year (Herzog Foundation).
Mr. Finch is amazed to see how God has caused SCA to grow through the decades and how many of his former students are now working on staff as his co-workers! All three of his own children spent their entire school careers at SCA, beginning in preschool and finishing with their high school diplomas. He and his wife Pam definitely believe in Christian school education.
“In addition to conveying excellent academics, it is my desire to bring a Christ-like passion to my classes that is meaningful, contagious, and fun. I pray each day that Jesus Christ will be my Guide as the hearts and minds I have been entrusted with continue to develop and grow in Him. I appreciate the opportunity and privilege families have given me to join them as a partner in the training up of their children.”
