Dr. Scheperle joined the SCA faculty in 2021. He is excited to teach Bible and Apologetics at SCA. After completing his biblical studies degree, he felt a strong call to become a Bible and theology teacher. Dr. Scheperle worked as a university professor at two universities in Iowa, served as a church planting pastor, and has also been a pastor of worship. He is passionate about helping others to see that the Bible is not only reliable but also a deep well for discovering God's beauty, goodness, grace, and glory. Dr. Scheperle loves helping students at all levels explore the riches of God in the Bible and to know how their lives fit within His redeeming work in the world.

"I am particularly interested in helping students understand their new identity in Christ which can give them a sense of belonging with God and provide direction for what He wants them to do in His world."

When he is not teaching, you can find Dr. Scheperle playing guitar or spending time with his two kids, whether fishing or enjoying a round of disc golf. He has been married to his wife Mindy since 2003 and they enjoy exploring Scripture together through books and podcasts.

  • Favorite Scripture
  • "The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross." Colossians 1:15-20
