“Teaching was not originally on my radar. In a lot of ways, I wish it had been. I did not major in education in college," shared Mrs. Casey. "Therefore, I arrived in the classroom a little later in life than most teachers. But teaching has been a major source of satisfaction and fulfillment in my life  It has been my calling – it has been what I was meant to do and be. My road to this end has not been typical, but God landed me right where He wanted me to be."
Her professional life has taken her many places and she has had the privilege of influencing the lives of many children in three different states. She taught in both the public and private sector and would not trade it for any other career. This is Mrs. Casey's 21st year of teaching and 12th year at SCA. She got her start in education in the Dallas Independent School District. Since then, she has taught in Christian schools in the Kansas City area, as well as in Chicago. She even has a couple of years of experience as a Media Specialist!
"Teaching has been an extremely rewarding experience. As they have come back to visit me, I have seen my students from the past few years grow and mature. I'm thankful to have had the opportunity to be an educator and so grateful to have been able to 'show [my students] all the beauty they possess inside.' "
“I believe the children are our future
Teach them well and let them lead the way
Show them all the beauty they possess inside
Give them a sense of pride to make it easier
Let the children’s laughter remind us how we used to be”
(Masser & Creed, 1977)
